Problem Statement
Job hunting is chaotic: applications, responses, deadlines, and follow-ups are scattered across email, spreadsheets, and notes. JobNextly solves this problem by providing a centralized, automated, and insightful platform to manage every aspect of a job search efficiently.
Project Overview
JobNextly is a job application tracking platform I built out of a personal need: I constantly lost track of the jobs I applied to, the responses I received, and the follow-ups I needed to send. Instead of struggling with spreadsheets or scattered emails, I decided to build my own solution—JobNextly.
The platform allows users to track every application in one place, sync emails from Gmail, generate analytics, and even prepare follow-up emails with customizable templates. Over time, it’s evolved into a full-featured tool that not only organizes applications but also automates repetitive tasks.
The Story Behind JobNextly
During my job search, I realized that managing applications manually was chaotic: some emails got buried, some deadlines were missed, and follow-ups were inconsistent. I needed a single platform that could centralize everything: the applications, their status, communication history, and insights.
That’s when I decided to create JobNextly. I started by building a simple system to log applications manually. Then, I integrated Gmail sync so that any applications sent via email would automatically populate the platform, reducing manual work. Analytics dashboards were added next, giving users insights into application statuses, response rates, and patterns.
Later, I enhanced the platform with email template generation so that follow-ups or thank-you emails could be prepared quickly. I’m also planning to add a smart email scheduler that will automatically send scheduled emails, making the platform almost entirely hands-off for repetitive communication. Features like GitHub/Gmail login, manual application addition, and a future referral tracker ensure users have multiple ways to keep their job search organized and efficient.
